10 Booklet Printing Tips For Anyone

Publication is not as hard as it looks. With new technology and printing techniques the process has been simplified a lot and now anyone can become a publisher with digital printing. With online booklet printing you can have accurate and vibrant colors giving the true reflection of the booklet. You can create your own glossy magazines, slick brochures, catalogues, annual reports or even books. We have summarised some factors that you can look before printing your next sensation:

1. Choose the right binding

Booklets are thinner than books. If you are printing a booklet of 40 pages then saddle stitching is advised otherwise if it is more than 200 pages then go for perfect binding. This is a neat type of binding.

2. Leave proper spacing

If the artwork is created for a bound document then there should be proper spacing left with the margins to avoid any reading problem without cutting any text.

3. Organised information
Give a thought about the message or information that you are trying to deliver through your publication. The headings of your brochure should be descriptive and bold. Make sure all the contact information is added properly.

4. Emphasize the front cover

Front cover plays an important role in success. Either you want booklet printing for magazines, newsletters, company reports or your personal book. The front cover of the booklet must be reserved for a cover message that is appealing and curious for the readers. Bright and touching images must be used to make the cover look different.

5. Avoid low-res images
Avoid using images of poor quality with low resolution otherwise you may end up in a badly printed booklet. Use scalable vector graphics which are easily available from free stock websites.

6. Choose best-fit orientation
The orientation must align with your layouts. You can choose the orientation according to the images like the wider images would require landscape orientation.

7. Paper weight selection

Your brochure or booklet must have the right paper-weight. Selecting heavier stock may give a look of luxury but if used too much then the document may open up from the springs in the case of saddle stitching. If your booklet has more than 25 pages then go for 130gsm.

8. Selecting right paper finish for inner pages

For informative text-heavy pieces one can choose from uncoated or silk paper. For extra durability you can also go for page lamination.

9. Selecting right paper finish for cover page

Your booklet cover decided whether the publication will be selected to red or ignored by the user. Images look vibrant on gloss finish that can be chosen for the cover. Heavy paper for the booklet cover makes it more durable and rigid.

10. Tracking the page counts

The booklet pages must include the front and back side of the booklet. The front page should be numbered as 1 and the page 2 should be the first left cover and so on. For a saddle stitched booklet the total amount of pages should be divided in the multiples of 4. While a perfect bound booklet must consist of pages in the multiples of 2.

There are many booklet printing services available online those can be chosen by browsing their portfolio.
